The Wrong Use for Windsor House Hotel - August 2023

The Windsor House Hotel is the wrong place to house some 44 mostly single men, many of whom will need additional support.

We had a completely shambolic meeting on the plans at the end of June on the future of Windsor House. It was done in the afternoon, when lots of people were at work, and organised in a room that wasn't big enough for the 200 people or so who tried to get in.

It was an utter shambles, but disgracefully it has now emerged that two days before that event the Cabinet Member for Housing on Worthing Council actually signed an agreement with the owners of Windsor House, potentially to have the use of it for the next ten years.

This cannot be forced through. We need proper scrutiny and consultation over the future of the hotel and I’m on the case to make sure residents get it.
