Question on Railway Ticket Office Closures - July 6th 2023

Many of my constituents are rightly concerned about the news from earlier in the week that nearly all railway station ticket offices across England could be closed.

In my experience there is always a queue for the ticket offices when I travel so I share their concerns, and am not convinced that the plan to move ticket office staff on to station platforms and concourses would offer an adequate alternative.

I asked the Rail Minister in Parliament about the plans on Thursday which you can see above, including his answer.
