You may still be eligible for Warm Home Discount for this winter, so should apply as soon as possible. The Warm Home Discount is a scheme which allows those eligible a rebate of £140 off their electricity bill. You may be eligible if you get the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit or if you are on a low income and meet British Gas’s criteria for the scheme. You can still qualify if you use a pre-pay or pay-as-you-go electricity meter.
I would encourage all British Gas customers to get in touch as soon as possible as the scheme will be closing soon, and they only provide the Warm Home Discount to a certain number of customers.
