Last Saturday was Small Business Saturday UK 2017, a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all of our wonderful small businesses and small business owners. Although it is a cliche to say, small businesses really are the backbone of the British economy, indeed we have been fiercely proud of this fact ever since the French, in particular Napoleon, mocked us for being "une nation de boutiquiers", or, in the Queen's English, "a nation of shopkeepers".
I produced a short video with cllrs Bryan Turner and Kevin Jenkins, as well as Shaun of Piccola Italia, to discuss the business relief that is available to small business owners from Adur & Worthing Councils, an upcoming street market on South Farm Road and the problems with parking.
