Shoreham Flying School closures at Shoreham Airport

With the closure of Shoreham Airport’s Flying Training Academy in June this year, many students who were starting or continuing their pilot training courses have been left in the lurch, with no financial compensation or alternative course placements.

Aspiring pilots pay upfront costs of up to £90,000 with no financial protection.

In a Westminster Hall debate I raised the point of extending legal protection and Civil Aviation Authority powers to investigate financial reimbursement for the students, as well to ensure that Shoreham and British aviation capacity increases to avoid threat of supply if pilots are trained abroad.
