Conservatives are going to begin a consultation on allowing local authorities to charge utility companies by the hour during road works.
I welcome this announcement as it should lead to practical day-to-day benefits for constituents. It is a continual nuisance for the council and residents when our roads are dug up by utility companies causing delays.
