Two ticket machines have been replaced as part GTR's plans to invest in and install 471 new modern ticket machines across the network. Lancing station has had one card/cash machine and one card only machine installed this month. These machines were installed on the 3rd and 13th April.
The purpose of this is to replace like-for-like to maintain similar facilities, replacing many machines which are much older and therefore harder to keep maintained. These new machines are most robust than earlier models which should improve reliability. The machines will hold more ticket stock, touch screens are more responsive and the mechanisms for cash/card are more reliable.
