Investment in new school places

West Sussex will receive an additional £750,000 as a result of the special educational needs funding announced last week. Including the £215 funding for special educational needs announced last year, this brings West Sussex’s total new allocation to over £4,000,000.

Between 2011 and 2021 West Sussex will receive over £241,000,000 in basic need capital funding to support more good school places. However this is still not adequate and schools in West Sussex require further funding to ensure that they are fairly funded and able to deliver the best education for our children.

However I do welcome this additional funding, although I will continue to call on the Government to look again at school funding in West Sussex to make sure we are fairly funded.
