It was a pretty lonely train journey back to Westminster on Tuesday as Parliament returned but apparently quiet a lot of City workers still didn’t.

On Monday I was invited to the new platform extension at Lancing station. Gone are the days of 8 coach westbound trains overhanging the level crossing causing extended delays with the barriers down. The extension will be in service from next month and has been put in place in record quick time.

This week started with a series of Eat out, hand out, speak out and hold your nose events. I kicked off the Chancellor’s excellent ‘Eat Out To Help Out’ scheme with a family dinner at The Fish Factory, one of Worthing’s finest run by Andy Sparsis, aka Mr Worthing.
